Free School Meals - December 2021

Please note - this only refers to families who receive benefit related free school meals.
Through the Government’s Household Support Fund, the Council have allocated funding to continue the
School Holiday Meal Scheme for December, which will allow eligible families to receive £30 per child to cover the two-week Christmas school break.
The scheme provides funds to ensure that eligible families can purchase food over the holidays to replace the meals a child would have received during a school day.
The application window will open for a short period from
Friday 26 November at 9am, closing on
Friday 3 December at 5pm.
Families who have previously received payment via the scheme do not need to reapply and will automatically receive the funds into their nominated bank by week commencing
Monday 20 December.
Schools are asked to encourage and support eligible families who have not yet taken advantage of this opportunity previously.
Details about the scheme have been updated on the Council’s
website, with the application form going live from
Friday 26 November.
