Miss Booth - 01 May 2025

Well done for a great week year 3!

English
This week we have been writing a non-chronological report about the city of Pompeii. The pupils have used formal language, fronted adverbials and technical vocabulary. Next week we will be starting to look at the features of a diary.

Maths
In Maths we have started our unit ‘money’ and the pupils will have their assessment on Tuesday. Then our next topic will be time. Please encourage your pupil to use a clock at home.

Science
In science this week, the pupils looked at what a flower needs to grow. We conducted a comparative test and we will continue to monitor this over the next few weeks to see if a plant can grow without its necessities. Next week we will be looking at photosynthesis and will be completing an experiment with leaves. If you are able please can you collect green leaves and bring them in next week ready for Tuesday. We only need a 1 per child. If you are unable, please do not worry I am sure there will be spares.

Shared learning
Next week, 3S’s class assembly will be on Thursday 8th May at 9:15 and Year 3 Shared Learning will start at half 9 and finish by half 10. All parents are welcome but we cannot allow siblings to join.

Please ensure your child is accessing TTRS and reading 5 times a week.
