W/C 17.04.23

Mrs Staples - 21 Apr 2023

What a fabulous first week of the summer term we have had!

Straight in with some art on Monday. We practised our watercolour skills in anticipation of learning about Monet and creating our own Waterlillies inspired artwork.

In English we began learning the skills to create a persuasive leaflet. The children have learnt about hyperbolies, emotive language and rhetorical questions. There was some fantasic role play using emotive language!

In maths we are looking at fractions again and the children have been adding, subtracting and partitioning the whole.

In geography we looked at grid references to identify locations. I was very impressed with how quickly the children learnt how to use northings and eastings to find different locations.

We also enjoyed a great road safety show performance. The children were all very engaged and learnt the vital skills of 'stop, look, listen, think'.

On Friday we spent the afternoon creating a Kandinsky inspired piece of artwork to celebrate Brady's 54th birthday.
