W/C 21.02.22 and 28.02.22
Mrs Staples - 03 Mar 2022
Year 3 have returned from half term eager to learn and we have been working really hard in 3S.
In English we have been learning about non-chronological reports and will soon be writing our ownn reports about the Earth's crust with all our new found knowledge. The children have focused on present tense, paragraphs and the use of sub-headings to organise their writing.
In Maths we have been learning about length and shape. If you have a ruler at home it would really benefit the children to measure and record the lengths of familiar household items and convert those measurements into mm, cm and m.
During Science we have begun to explore rocks and the earths surface. This links nicely into our Geography lessons where we investigated the different types of rock - igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary. The children all completed their investigations with a lot of enthusiasm.
The second week of term gave us World Book Day and 3S all looked fantastic in their costumes. I loved hearing about their favourite books and why they love them.
Let's keep up the hard work Year 3, well done!
