Year 3 Home Learning Update

07 May 2020

Your spellings for this week are:
Words with a /sh/ sound spelt with 'ch'
chef
chalet
machine
brochure
crochet
ricochet
parachute
moustache
champagne
chute

This week I would like to set you a challenge.
In many years to come, this period of time will be a part of history that you’ve lived through and experienced (unlike many of the historical events we learn about at school). I would like you to write a diary entry of your experience of ‘lockdown’ during this coronavirus pandemic. Who knows, this could be read by school children your age in many years to come!

Five house points will be given to anyone that completes this challenge. Although, I will need you to email a photo of your writing to me at sosullivan@brady.havering.sch.uk

It has been lovely to hear what some of you have been up to.

Stanley has been writing lots! He did some research about lions before creating a fact file about them and used his senses to inspire his writing about a picture of a skydiver. Stanley drew another picture to show his appreciation to the NHS and he even broke his mum’s spoons making lots of noise with the pots on Thursday! He has been playing outside and checking on some baby ducks and their mum on his adventures.

Last week, Taylor and Millen did lots of PE and technology with their dad. They have started to look at the features of a diary and will be planning to write a diary entry from the point of view of a character in a story they have read. Also, they have been using Lego to help them to solve equivalent fraction problems and they both wrote letters telling me what they have been up to.

Eva has been learning lots on BBC Bitesize, practising her time tables and learning about irregular verbs. She has also been very creative making a bunny and building forts. She has been playing in the garden, planting sunflowers, playing with her dog, playing Mario Cart with her mum and helping her dad to build a greenhouse!
