Year 3 Week 6

14 Feb 2020

English
This week the children finished their ‘hot writes’ for their newspaper reports and these have been great to read. Then, the children started to look at poetry and gathered vocabulary and ideas in groups ready to write a robot poem.

Maths
The children have been finding fractions of amounts this week. They have worked hard to overcome this challenging concept and have enjoyed the challenge too. Extra practice has been sent home for your child.

Science and Topic
In Science the children have been learning about magnetic poles. Before they investigated which poles would attract or repel each other, they made predictions. On Monday, the children made their cars using cardboard boxes. They measured the dowelling rods then used a saw to carefully cut them. They will also test their cars before evaluating their final product.
