Year 3 Week 4

Literacy
This week Year 3 have been identifying the features of a newspaper report. Their reports are based on the ‘Iron Man’ story that we have been reading in class and focuses on the arrival of the Space-bat-angel-dragon. They have been using the five Ws to write their opening and interviewing each other as eye-witnesses. Next week, they will be continuing to plan and write their newspapers.
Maths
We have been calculating the perimeter of 2D shapes and adding and subtracting amounts of money. The children have been working really hard on this. Extra practice has been sent home for your child.
Topic
The children designed their own parachutes this week. They selected their own materials that they thought were the most suitable after learning about air resistance.
