Welcome back!
The pupils have had a great this week. Well done for all your hard work!
English
This week in English we have started our new topic of poetry. We have focused on Limericks and next week we will be writing our own Limerick and comparing them to Clerihews.
Maths
In maths this week we have started our new topic 'Fractions' We have looked at unit and non unti fractions and have discussed when a fraction becomes a whole.
Science
In Science we have started our new topic 'Rocks' We have identified different rocks and compared them to chocolate bars. On Wednesday 2nd April 2025 we will be going on a school trip to RHS Hyde Hall in Chelmsford to take part in a rocks workshop.
Geography
In Geography this week we have started our new topic 'Rocks, Relics and Rumbles'. The pupils have started to look at the Earths core and the Plate tectonics. Next week we will look more closely at earthquakes and volcanoes.
Art
In Art this week, we looked at different urban landscapes from different artisits. The pupils drew their own urban landscape of the school.
Next week is World Book Day - this will be celebrated in school on Thursday 6th March 2025. Pupils can dress up as their favourite character and bring in the book. It is PE day for Year 3 so please make sure your child is wearing sensible footwear.
