Year 3 Update 18.6.21

18 Jun 2021

English
This week Year 3 have been writing a draft for their non-chronological reports. Their reports are based on a fictional creature which they have really enjoyed creating. They have also been thinking of different ways to make their writing more interesting by adding subordinate clauses, varied and interesting sentence openers and technical vocabulary. I can’t wait to read their reports!

Maths
In maths we have been finding and comparing durations of time. This has been a challenge for the children but they have persevered. Next week, we will be recapping using formal written methods and measuring time in seconds.

Other
The children have started an art project that will be displayed in the National Gallery next year. To begin, the children thought of different ideas that they could ‘bring to life’. They came up with some brilliant ideas and I look forward to showing you the end product. In computing, the children continued to create their animations, debugging issues along the way.
