Maths This week in Maths, the children have started their new unit on geometry. They have been busy exploring 2D shapes, practising how to measure sides carefully and draw them accurately. It has been wonderful to see their confidence grow as they recognise different shapes and discuss their properties. The focus on precision has really helped them develop a deeper understanding of geometry.
English In English, the children have been working on writing clear sets of instructions. We explored how to use imperative verbs and commands to make instructions easy to follow. The children enjoyed creating their own step‑by‑step guides, and it was fantastic to see them thinking carefully about how to structure their writing so that someone else could use it successfully. Their enthusiasm for this task has shone through in their work.
Topic Topic lessons have continued alongside our nativity rehearsals. In Science, the children investigated microhabitats and went on a lively minibeast hunt, discovering how different creatures adapt to their environments. They were fascinated by the variety of insects and enjoyed recording their findings.
Nativity practice is also in full swing — lines, songs, and dances are coming together beautifully, and it has been lovely to see so many children growing in confidence on stage. Please keep practising lines at home if your child has them.
