Mrs Shah's update
21 Nov 2025
Year 2 have worked hard and had a fantastic time at Brady Primary this week.
Maths
Children have been working extremely hard and have approached the end of their addition and subtraction unit and have begun their new maths unit on geometry where we have been looking at shapes.
While some children are still struggling with column method addition and subtraction with exchanges, the progress has been incredible to see and will assist them greatly with their upcoming assessments! Please continue to practise and refine those skills as home. Below are some websites you can access to practise these with your children.

English
In English children have been working towards writing a set of instructions to follow when making their own sandwiches. We have done a lot of sentence level work looking at the differences between statements and commands as well as word level grammar such as looking at imperative verbs and the effect that this has. Children have taken well to this learning and have done some fantastic work in their books. They are also excited for the next big write!
Topic
Topic has been a little scattered this week due to the beginning of our intense nativity practise! Children have enjoyed learning about the habitats and adaptations of different animals and have done some fantastic work on this. Children have continued their work in geography looking at symbols and keys on maps. The homework has been of extremely high quality and teachers are impressed.
This week children are working extremely hard and having a great time learning lines, dances and songs for our upcoming performance. It has been amazing seeing so many children come out of their shells and we anticipate some future performers in our classrooms!
Please continue to practise lines with your children if they have them at home, we need all the practise we can get!
