Year 2 have had another brilliant week
English
This week we has been focussing on our Rosa Parks unit and exploring what she did and the impact she had in promoting equality for all. Children did research and sequenced Rosa’s life in preparation for writing a biography all about Rosa. We are reading the Rosa Parks little people big dreams book for our core text.
Maths
This week we has also been very busy understanding our 2s, 3s, and 4 times tables as well as moving onto understanding the beginnings of addition and subtraction. They have worked so hard and are working towards some more complex number problems! We encourage to keep practising times tables at home.
Topic
In History, we have continued our significant people unit. In art, we continued with our still life unit. We have also begun our RE unit on understanding Christianity and the bible. In science we have continued our animals and humans unit and children had a go at measuring their heartrate after several different activities. And we have had our long awaited Space Day!
Children look amazing in their fantastic costumes and we have done some really exciting space day activities like making a galaxy in a jar!
