Year 2S - Mrs Shah Class News

Year 2 have had great week at Brady Primary and welcomed in the month of October
English.
This week we has been busy in English where children have finished their first ever big write in year 2, writing a diary as Neil Armstrong. We then moved onto our new unit on Rosa parks where children have learnt about and experienced discrimination in our classroom through an immersive activity. We are working towards writing a biography.
Maths
This week we has also been very busy in maths where we have finished our place value unit and children have completed their end of unit test! The children have worked so hard and should be so proud of their achievements so far. We have now started our new unit in maths, which is addition and subtraction.
Topic
In History, we have continued our significant people unit. In art, we continued with our still life unit and we explored colour studies. Children learnt about mixing colours, adding tints and shadows and created their own paint swatch palettes mixing many different colours to create exact shade matches. The children are incredibly creative and really enjoyed themselves and we look forward to painting in the future!
