Week 4

16 May 2022

Maths
This week in maths, the children have been continuing to learn about fractions. They have been learning how to find 1/3 of an amount. They have also been learning about unit and non unit fractions, and being able to identify and find these e.g. shade 3/4 of the square, find 1/2 of the cubes.

English
This week in English the children have been writing reports. They wrote a report based around naughty Peter Rabbit's antics in Mr McGregor's garden!

Foundation
We really enjoyed our science lesson this week, where we looked at living things that live in an ocean habitat. We looked at the different depths of the ocean and why living things choose to live at these different depths. In Geography, the children have been learning to read maps, including using a key to understand symbols and follow directions using a compass. We looked at the physical and human tourist attractions in Whitby too.
