Home Learning week 1

27 Mar 2020

Hello all! I hope you have all managed to keep safe during this first week of school closures. I am sure this week has been a period of adjustment for all of you, trying to find the balance between supporting your child at home and keeping them calm - some of you are even trying to balance school work with your own work I'm sure! I have had a few emails from parents worrying about this, but just try your best. This is an unusual situation and we are all learning as we go. The most important thing is that our children feel happy and safe.

From the emails that I have received, I can see that the children have made a start on their home learning packs alongside other activities around the house. It has been lovely to see children using their gardens to do some learning and take advantage of the lovely weather we have had this week. I have been sent examples of mini beast hunts, construction work and even some working out! Please continue to let me know what you have been up to and, where possible, send pictures to my email address. I am of course missing working with all of the children and love seeing what you are up to!

Here are some of the pictures I have been sent. How many of your friends can you spot?

Remember to check out our 'home learning' tab for links to support your child's learning at home. Joe Wicks is creating daily P.E. lessons live on Youtube. I'm sure some of the children will love this, though if you're anything like me you might need a few days break to recover from the first session!
David Walliams is also offering free readings of his popular books, and amazon are offering free audiobooks for children also.

Finally, I would like to say a big thank you to all of our parents who are NHS and key workers. Your dedication to keep the country going, as well as keeping your own families safe, has been inspiring.

I look forward to hearing all about your home learning next week, and I hope to see you again very soon. Please say a big hello to all your children from me.

Miss West :)
