SATs and all that business

19 May 2017

This week the children have completed the national tests in reading, maths, grammar and punctuation. I have been really pleased with how they have just taken them in their stride, even being pleased when I said we were doing a test! The children's results will be on their school report which you will receive by the end of term. There are no longer levels so they will be assessed as one of the following: working towards the expected standard, at expected standard and working at greater depth within the expected standard.
We also started our information books on a sea creature, found out about Grace Darling in topic work and in RE explored the Christian creation story. In Science we listened to different genres of music and gave them marks out of 10. It was interesting to see how different our musical tastes were.

Our caterpillars became beautiful butterflies and so we released them in the garden. They did need some persuasion to leave their net and fly onto the bushes. All 5 are now flying around Rainham so watch out!
