Orang-utans in Rainham

05 Feb 2016

Wow . We have really enjoyed literacy this week as we used an e-book all about orang-utans. I have been impressed by the enthusiasm and quality of the children's work this week. They have been writing and answering questions, completing a factual report and writing instructions for a zoo keeper.

I also would like to mention some children who should feel really proud of their achievements this week. David V who showed his work in excellence assembly and had 4 pieces to choose from! Demola who got 16 spellings correct out of 16 which is his highest score and also Mason who got 15, again his highest score.
In mental maths these children got 14 out of 14 correct which included some challenge questions-Brooke S, David A, Aaron, Amelie,Kayden  and Dylan. Well done!

Today we joined with year1 for a debate on whether we should wear a school uniform. Aman and Kayden presented their thoughts and the children voted by using a ballot paper which they posted in a ballot box. This reinforces our work on British values in school. Well done to all the children who expressed their views. 16 children were for a  uniform and 38 were against !
Sorry children you do still need to wear your uniform on Monday!

Dojo winners are Layla with an impressive 21 and in second place Daria.  Well done girls.
Come on boys, the girls have won a lot of times now!

Have a great weekend.
