Miss Pillai - 13 Mar 2026

Year 4 have worked so hard to complete all of their assessments this week as part of assessment week.

This week in maths, we have finished the first part of our decimals topic and have completed our end of unit assessment and will now be moving onto the second part of our decimals topic next week.

In English this week, we have finished our river leaflets. The children have worked hard on their leaflets ensuring to include present perfect tense and subject specific vocabulary. They are all excited to show you these during parents consultations!

In science, we investigated materials that are conductors and materials that are insulators. The children went around the classroom looking for objects that have materials that are conductors and insulators and tested them to see if electricity could pass through them in a circuit to make a light bulb light up.
Children have also enjoyed block printing this week in D.T creating their own motifs inspired by William Morris.

We have sent a maths homework sheet home this week which will support our maths work.

Reminders:

Our school trip to see River Thames will be on Monday 16th March.
Children will be wearing normal school uniform, however, comfortable shoes such as trainers are allowed due to lots of walking. Please make sure children are here on time at 8:45.
Please ensure children have a packed lunch (preferably in a plastic bag so that this can be thrown once eaten) or have booked their school packed lunch. A plastic waterbottle will be handy so that the children can throw this away rather than carrying their waterbottle on the way back.

Parents consultations will take place next Wednesday 18th March. Make sure you have booked your appointment online. Remember children do not attend school on this day.

Please remember that 4P will have their class assembly on Thursday 26th March in the morning and then both classes will have shared learning.

Here is the homework map and newsletter for this half term.
