Welcome back year 4! Hope you had a lovely week off.
We had an exciting electricity workshop to start the week off which the children really enjoyed!
This week in maths, we have started our new topic about decimals. We have learned about 1 tenth as a fraction and as a decimal and learning how to represent 1 tenth or 0.1 on a place value chart. Year 4 have worked so hard with this and have done so well!
In English this week, we have been learning about rivers, including all of the specific vocabulary for rivers such as waterfall, meanders, riverbed, mouth, source, tributary, delta, floodplain and erosion.
In science, we looked at household appliances that run off of batteries or mains. We also investigated how to make a working circuit to make a lightbulb light up.
We have sent a maths homework sheet home this week which will support our maths work next week on decimals.
Don't forget next Wednesday 4th March will be World Book Day so the children can choose to dress up as a character from a book or where pyjamas to school.
Here is the homework map and newsletter for this half term.
