Well done for completing another week year 3!
This week in English we used our practiced skills of inverted commas and conjunctions when planning and writing our own narrative! Next week we will be moving onto informal letter writing, as well as working on our skills of prefixes and prepositions.
In maths we have worked hard on linking multiplication with division and dividing with and without remainders.
In science this week we learned about reflective materials, and what makes them reflective compared to non-reflective materials. We had fun investigating different materials such as mirrors, wood, plastic and tin foil, to observe which ones were the most and least reflective when shining our flashlights on them.
In history we looked into the Ancient Greek timeline, and all the events that occurred during this period. We worked hard to put all the events in order and enjoyed a class discussion about each event and what they meant!
In the next few weeks, we will be working on building an automaton toy in DT. Could the children please bring in any small cardboard boxes they may have at home, (e.g small shoe boxes, tissue boxes ect) as this will be used for the base of their toy!
Please continue to read with your child 5 times a week and encourage Times Tables Rockstars at least 5 times a week (for 5 minutes) as this really helps them through their math’s lessons!
Spellings for next week are attached!
Have a lovely weekend!
