Week 1 5PS

09 Jan 2026

Well done to all the children for a fantastic start to the new term!

This week, we have continued our learning on multiplication and division in Maths.  Although some of the concepts have been challenging at times, we are incredibly proud of the children’s effort and resilience in working through them.

In Geography, we have begun our exciting new topic, Peasants, Princes and Pestilence.  The children have particularly enjoyed our first lesson, where we looked at the origins of the Black Death.

In Art, we have been exploring the work of Pablo Picasso, focusing on his continuous line drawings.  The children had fun attempting to recreate one of his pieces themselves.

In Shared Reading, we have begun exploring our class text, Macbeth.  The children made some excellent predictions about what might happen next in the story, and demonstrated fantastic retrieval skills when answering questions about the text.

A quick reminder, PE is now scheduled for Friday mornings.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.
