Miss Bowden - 12 Dec 2025

Well done year 3 for another brilliant week at school!

We have had a great week this week, with lots of Christmas fun including our naughty elves making an appearance and causing lots of trouble!

In maths this week, we have been working really hard with our 8 times tables. We have been multiplying and dividing by 8 and using our knowledge of our 2 and 4 times tables to help us!

In English this week we worked on our skills of emotive language and contractions in preparation for our persuasive write next week! We have enjoyed looking at good and bad examples of persuasive writing, even improving them ourselves!

In shared reading we are coming towards the end of our book ‘The Queen’s nose’, we made really good predictions on what we think might happen next!

In science we have continued our work on skeletons. Following on from our bionic hand that we made, this week we made a bionic arm to show us how muscles contract to create movement!

In geography this week we are looking at land use. We have sent the children home with a worksheet to collect examples of agricultural land, commercial land, recreational land, residential land and transportation land that they may have spotted on their walk home. Can this sheet please be returned to school no later than Friday 19th December.

Several children from each class also had the pleasure of picking the winning raffle tickets from our FOB raffle sale! The prizes for each ticket have been sent home with the children today.

As always, please continue to read 5 times a week and play on TTRS as much as possible (5 times a week, 5 minutes a time).
Have a lovely weekend, ready for our last week before Christmas!
