Well done year 3 for a brilliant week at school!
We have been very busy this week completing our assessments for the autumn term and worked really hard to show off all our knowledge!
In maths this week, we have been learning our 4 times tables, multiplying and dividing numbers by 4 as well as recalling timetables facts. Homework has been sent to support this learning at home, please play TTRS as much as possible as this is the best way to improve timestable knowledge! Next week in maths we will be learning our 8s!
In English, we have started our new topic of persuasive writing. We have looked at good examples of persuasive writing, specifically using emotive language and rhetorical questions.
In shared reading, we have been developing our inference skills by deciding how a character might be feeling and why. We have also worked on our retrieval skills and summarising!
In science this week, we had a great time learning about how our skeleton protects the vital organs in the body! We demonstrated this by putting an egg in a jar and shaking, then putting an egg in a jar filled with water and shaking!
In geography this week, we made a fact file of London to show the human and physical features of a city.
As always, please continue to read 5 times a week and play on TTRS as much as possible (5 times a week, 5 minutes a time).
Have a lovely weekend!
