Week 2 5PS

14 Nov 2025

Well done Year 5, for an amazing Week 2!

This week in maths, we have continued our learning on fractions.  Some aspects of the topic have been challenging, but the children have shown fantastic resilience and are trying their best!  We are proud of their determination and positive attitudes.

We have also started our new DT topic on pneumatics.  The children impressed us with their existing knowledge of the states of matter, which helped them greatly during their experiment.  They showed enthusiasm and curiosity as they explored how air can be used to create movement in pneumatics.

In English, we have continued focusing on figurative language, and the children have enjoyed exploring this further through a range of poetry activities.

For home learning, children should be reading five times a week, accessing Time Tables Rock Stars regularly, and practising their spellings in preparation for the spelling test each Friday.

If children would like additional practice, a section of optional worksheets and activities can be found using the links below.
We hope you have a lovely weekend!
