Year 2 had a brilliant final week at Brady Primary before half term
English
This week we have concluded our celebration of Rosa Parks as children have finished writing their biographies. It has been a pleasure to read all of the amazing things children have taken on board through this unit and they have produced some really great writing! We then looked at expanded noun phrases and apostrophes in our grammar lessons and children wrote some creative sentences. Children are sent home with weekly spellings and over half term have been given a list of common exception words to practise as part of their homework.
Maths
This week we have continued our addition and subtraction unti. Children have been working to understand addition to and from a 10 as well as explored different methods to achieve this even across a 10. They have worked so hard and are working towards some more and more complex number problems! We have also played some times table and number bond games in class and encourage to keep practising times tables at home because the practise is working!
Topic
In topic we have continued our RE unit on understanding and stories from the bible. In science we have concluded our animals and humans unit and children built their own healthy meals using their understanding of a healthy and balanced diet.
Children have worked so hard this half term and have already come far. Please celebrate their success with them and have a well-deserved break before our upcoming winter term and nativity!
