Well done year 4 on completing another week.
In English, we have started our new instructions topic. We have looked at an example of a instructions text and as a class we went through the key features. We have also learnt out 2 main skills which are pronouns and fronted adverbials. Next week, we will be making a roman shield so the children can write an instructions text on how to make one. Please bring in any cereal boxes/ pizza boxes that they can use by Wednesday next week.
In shared reading, we have created our own questions and matches them up to answers, we have used our inference and retrieval skills to identify mistakes/problems the characters have made through the book and also summaries a chapter.
In maths this week, we have learnt how to round to the nearest 10 and 100. Next week we will be learning how to round to the nearest 1,000.
In science this week, we have looked at the process of a liquid turning into a solid through freezing. The children created their own ice cream from milk and ice.
On Friday afternoon, we have celebrated European languages day. In year 4 we were given Polish, and we learnt some polish words. We also created Polish Wycinanki Evergreen paper cut-outs.
Please remember to bring in cereal boxes/ cardboard boxes before Wednesday.
