Reception Autumn 2 Week 2

We have had another exciting week in Reception this week!
We have started our new topic 'Starry Night.' We enjoyed creating rockets using tin foil and creating constellations pictures using black paper and white paint. The paint looked really effective flicked across the paper to create stars. We learnt wat a constellation was. We also have learnt about nocturnal animals that come out at night like: moths, badgers and foxes.
In Maths, we have been learning about positional language and using vocabulary such as 'besides', 'underneath' and 'to the left of.' It is lovely to see the children are beginning to apply their phonics into their writing and are writing cvc words such as 'bed.'
We loved seeing all of the CRAZY hairstyles for Children in Need Day! Some people had different coloured hair and lots of hairspray in to hold up their hair!
Please continue to ensure that the children's books are in their bookbags everyday. If you wish to accompany us on our Night Time Walk around between 4:30 and 5:15 on Wednesday 4th December then please let the teachers know!
