Miss Pillai - 11 Oct 2024

Well done year 4 for completing another week!

In English this week we have finished our instructions topic. The pupils have created amazing instructions on how to make a Roman shield. We have also started our new English topic which will be poetry. We have read the poem ‘ The Eagle and The crocodile’.

In maths this week we have been focussing on subtracting 4-digit numbers with one exchange and more than one exchange. Pupils have also been sent home with homework and they have been told this is optional. They have also been told if they do complete this and bring it back by Friday, they will be receiving 5 house points each.
In art this week the pupils have finished their design of their geometric tiles. They have painted them using Islamic art colour schemes. They have created amazing designs! They have taken these home with them today along with their Roman shields.

In history this week the pupils have learnt about a significant leader called King Athelstan. They have used different sources of information to create a biography.

In science this week, we have had a lot of fun! They made ice cream using their knowledge from changing states. We have learnt how ‘freezing’ can change a liquid to a solid. They also got a chance to try the ice cream!
