Summer 2 Week 2

Miss Skelton - 16 Jun 2023

This week we are learning our Number bonds to 10.  We have been calling them special friends.  So if we call 8, the children should automtically recall 2 to make 10.

10 and 0
9 and 1
8 and 2
7 and 3
6 and 4
5 and 5
4 and 6
3 and 7
2 and 8
1 and 9
0 and 10

Please practise this at home. E.g. call to make 10....I need 7 and .........????

In topic, we have continued learning about Marvellous Machines.  We enjoyed a lesson designing a robot to complete jobs for us, like cleaning, cooking and doing our hair and make up, filling up our paddling pools and playing with us.  We had some really lovely imaginative ideas.

We have also been learning about how machines now are different to machines in the past.  For example, we have been shocked at an old fashioned washing machine! And confused that there were no mobile phones!  We have learnt to light a lightbulb we must make a circuit with no breaks in it!

Remember to bring a WATER BOTTLE, SUN HAT and APPLY SUNCREAM to be sun safe.  It is very hot!
