Science - bubbles,food colour,magnets,salamanders and speedy snails!

10 Mar 2017

Today was science day so we carried out some different investigations. The children also got to see Colin and Derek (no comment),the tiger salamanders and 23 African land snails. We had lots of fun but I think the snail race in the afternoon was the children's favourite. We named the 3 snails that went the furthest on the games boards that we made-1st- Turbo    2nd Big Dash    3rd Mr Fast
So if they come home today and say they raced snails,it really is true!
Have a look at the board in the corridor to see more photos.

Next week is parent evenings and the following week we go to the Ragged school( Thurs 23rd)
Friday 24th Red nose day

Could you please check your children's clothes to make sure that they have the right ones, as after P.E with Mr Gill it seems that some children have taken home the wrong clothes. I do have a spare pair of trousers and some children have lost ties. I am not sure how they got home without the trousers, perhaps they had a long coat.

If your child was born between 1st September 2015 and 31st August 2016, they are due to start Reception Class in September 2020.  If you were unable to attend our previous meetings, you're welcome to visit the school on Wednesday 11th December between 5-6pm (no booking required).  Please do not attend if you came to the previous meetings.

Reception - Year 6 parents/guardians. If you wish to order school photographs via the school for free delivery, your order must be received into the office before Tuesday 3rd December. For Nursery parents, before 13th December.

Chicken Pox - a number of children are currently off ill with this. If your child has or gets chicken pox, they should remain off school for about 5 days from the onset of the rash/spots.  Once the spots have crusted over and no new ones appear, your child can return to school if they feel well enough.
