British Values and the voting system.
23 Apr 2016
Yesterday Years 2 and 1 carried out another debate. Our question was should we have farm animals at school. In year 2 Alex and Aidan explained why they thought we should or should not have animals in school.Well done to these two boys, as it is quite daunting to speak in front of 60 children and adults.
Ideas expressed ranged from the smell, suitable enclosures, hygiene and noise. We were not sure our neighbours would appreciate being woken up at 4 o clock by a cockerel!.
Then the children marked their ballot papers with a cross and posted them in a ballot box.
The results showed a majority for having animals at school.
This is our second debate this year and allows the children to see how in Britain we make decisions and promote British values.
