Year 2 explore the great fire of London.
17 Jan 2015
This week we have been exploring London's past. We used Drama to act out what it would have been like to live in 1666 when the fire started. Then the children wrote a letter to a friend explaining the events.
The class produced some excellent work and I had to give out a lot of good work stickers!
We also tried out a good interactive game which the children can use at home
www.fireoflondon.org.uk/game.
In Maths we have been working on missing number sums and trying to complete them
without using a number square. Also they have used the greater than and less than signs (> & <).
Mental maths tests corrections should be completed as part of homework.
In Science we carried out an experiment to show how easy it is to spread germs. Then some children designed posters and others made zig zag books about helping to stop the spread of germs . We are all aiming to be more careful and to remember when it is important to wash our hands.
Thank you to those parents who were able to come with us to the library on Friday afternoon. On Tuesday we are going to Tesco but we will not be able to take parents as the children will be working in groups and so additional members of staff will be coming.
