Camouflage and Poems

Mr Eden - 31 Jan 2019

Literacy

This week in year 2 the children have been learning how to write a poem. They have planned and structured their poems and have read and studied many examples of poems with mini beasts. Tomorrow they will be writing their final draft and will have an opportunity to prastice their speaking skills by reading their poems to the rest of the class.

Math

In maths the children have been learning about shapes and finding fractions of shapes. Alongside this, many in year two can now find a fraction of a number.

Topic

The children have learnt about how mini beasts survive by camouflage, mimicry, warning colours and playing dead. They have also painted their own mini beast, with an aim to make them camouflage in different environments.

It has been a cold week, with coughs and sneezes, but it hasn't stopped everyone in year 2 working hard. I am very proud of all the children's effort.
