Maths
In maths this week the children have been adding 1s, 10s and 100s to 3 digit numbers. This has been a real challenge when we need to cross over into the next 100. Any practise the children can get with this at home would be fantastic. An example worksheet can be seen below.

I have been so impressed with Year 3's written work this week. They created their own Bronze Age character and used them to write character descriptions. They worked extremely hard to use adverbs, noun phrases and conjunctions to make their work more interesting and descriptive. They have worked so hard to improve their standard of punctuation and spelling in this work too. Well done to Bareerah and Connor who received our first Writer of the Week award of Year 3!

3W really enjoyed history this week and were extremely engaged. They learned all about the invasion of the Celts and how this impacted those living in Britain. They role played being a Bronze Age brit and explored the cause and effects of the invasion, and the impact it had on British history. We had an interesting discussion at the end about whether we thought the invasion was overall positive or negative. In Science, the children learned all about muscles and how they work in pairs in our bodies. We had fun exploring how our muscles work, particularly when it came to using our muscles to pull facial expressions that can only be described as interesting!
All of us in 3W hope that you have a wonderful half term!
