Reception Aut 2 Week 5

Miss Skelton - 02 Dec 2022

In Maths, we have been continuing to practice forming 4 and 5. We have also been busy finding one more and one less. We have had lots of fun practicing our nativity songs which the children have all been brilliant at. If your child has been given a role in the nativity please try to practice their lines with them at home.

In topic we have been learning all about “what’s up there” in the night sky.  We have talked about the planets and been singing a song available on youtube : Hopscotch: The Planets Song.  We have looked at Space Bear’s galaxy photos and listened to The Planets classical music.  We have made a dark “space observatory” to look at projections of space pictures underneath the table.  We have also been learning all about the Moon Landing!

We had so much fun on our night-time walk yesterday and we hope that you all enjoyed it too! We got to walk around the school with our torches and glowsticks to see what things come out a night. We spotted a bright moon and could even see Jupiter! Then, we made Miss Skelton act very silly when we read The Book with No Pictures by B. J. Novak.  Thank you to all the lovely parents who came with their children and helped us make it a lovely night.
