This week in English the children have been working on performance poetry. They have been reading a range of poems and thinking about their volume and expression, and the impact it has on the reader. The children have enjoyed beginning their new book which is called Queen of Darkness. It is about Queen Boudicca and her rebellion against the Romans in Britain!
Maths
In maths, we have finished our unit about money. The children used a number line to find change. This was quite a challenging concept, so any support at home would be appreciated. The children could practise working out what change they will recieve before a purchase at the shop, for example. We have been working out change by start on the cost of the item we wish to buy, counting to the next pound, then counting up again to the amount we have paid with (e.g. a £10 note).
Foundation
In history this week, the children have learned about Boudicca's rebellion.
