Welcome back all. We hope you had a wonderful break! This half term we will have Miss O'Sullivan joining the 3W teaching team. She will be taking over as class teacher on Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays. Miss O'Sullivan has spent some time with the class this week and looks forward to starting back next week!

English
This week we have started a whole school writing task based on the picture book Journey. The children will be writing a setting description. They have really enjoyed discussing the story so far and coming up with descriptive phrases to describe one of the settings in the story.

Maths
This week the children have been learning how to multiply and divide 4s and 8s. Please make sure your child is practising counting in steps of 3, 4 and 8s at home. The BBC website has 'supermover' videos that can support with this.

Topic
This week we have started a new history topic called Gods and Mortals. The children had great fun learning about Zeus and played top trumps with Ancient Greek God cards. In Science, our new topic is light and this week the children will be learning about what light is and that it is the absence of light.
