2K Spring week 1

06 Jan 2023

Welcome back to school after a few weeks break!

This half term's topic is 'Movers and Shakers'. We will be studying people of historical significance, including people who had an impact locally.

English
This week we have revisited verbs and studied the difference between past and present tense verbs. We also learnt some irregular past tense verbs such as 'swam', 'ran', 'ate' and 'drank'. Next week we will use this knowledge to help us write a recount about our road safety roadshow visit.

Maths
We are continuing with shape for the first couple of weeks of this half-term. This week we have counted the number of vertices on a shape and have drawn 2D shapes using a ruler on a squared grid - this will need more attention!

Visit
This week KS1 had a special road safety roadshow visit from Zebe and Peli, who taught us all how to cross the road safely. This was a fun way to learn a vital skill.

Notices

  • Please ensure that all items of clothing are clearly labelled with your child's name. We have increasing numbers of children losing items of clothing and looking for them will no longer be done by staff. It will be your child's responsibility to locate missing items of clothing outside of lesson time.
  • PE will still be on Thursday afternoons this term, so please ensure your child is wearing their PE kit to school on this day.
