Autumn 1 Week 3

23 Sep 2022

This week in Year Two our coloured reading band books were given out that match your child's phonics group. Please read with your child five times a week. Books will be changed when your child has read through each book at least twice (once for fluency, once for comprehension) to the satisfaction of the class teacher.

English Writing
We had a grammar focus this week. We studied what nouns are, how to identify them, then wrote noun phrases to describe objects and a Royal guard.

Maths
We continued our work in place value by partitioning flexibly and using tens on a number line. This will help embed the 10x table.

Science
For our first group practical investigation we studied bridges and which materials are suitable for them to be made out of.

Notices

Tuesday 27th September is an inset day. Children are not to attend school on this day. Staff will be present and having training from Read, Write, Inc.
