What a busy class we have been this week

31 Jan 2015

We have been very busy learners in year 1 this week.

ON Monday in maths we began recognising coins and by Friday we were solving simple word problems using our knowledge of addition.

On Tuesday we made meerkat hats to help us go into charcter for hot seating. The children were fantastic at role playing Sunny the meerkat who travels from country to country exploring the world.
This is linked to our topic 'Why cant a meerkat live in the North Pole?'

Meet Sunny the meerkat - all 30 of them.

On Wednesday we pretended we were Sunny, on yet another trip around the world. The children wrote fantastic postcards home to the their meerkat families back in the Kalahari Desert.

A great photo of all the Meerkats. Aman gave me good description of hot seating. I'm sure the meerkats will have fabulous adventures around the world.
