Aut 2 Week 3- Float or Sink?

18 Nov 2016

This week in Literacy we have been continuing our learning about non-fiction texts. We have been learning all about tigers. We have been writing about where they live, what they eat, describing different parts of them and writing facts about them. We have been focussing on writing neatly, using spaces in the right places and forming our sentences to flow together and make sense when re-reading them.

In maths we have been subtracting numbers using our number facts and learning about the difference between addition and subtraction. We are beginning to learn how to reason getting the answers we do, using fingers and number lines.

In topic we had a go at being The Beatles! We all practiced our verse of “The Yellow Submarine” in groups and came together to perform it, we sounded amazing!

In Science we carried out an investigation this week, testing if certain materials would float or sink.

This week was anti-bullying week so we have been discussing as a class how to be kind to our friends, and what to do if we have a problem.

We have started practicing our songs for the nativity play too!

Thank you to all parents who have made appointments on the website for Parents’ Evenings next week (23rd & 24th) I look forward to meeting with you.
