Summer Term

Mr Armitage - 15 Apr 2016

I hope you all had a relaxing Easter break. It has been fantastic to be treated to some sunshine this week. It has been lovely being back and learning lots of new and exciting things!

In Literacy we have been looking at the story ‘Gigantosaurus’ by Jonny Duddle. The children have been engrossed by the visual pictures in the book. We have been describing the setting and writing stories based on dinosaurs. As a class they have written some very sad endings, containing lots of blood and gore!

In Maths this week we have been looking at telling the time to the hour and half past. The children have been enjoying using whiteboards to demonstrate their understanding. I have been very impressed by the resilience the children have shown on this sometimes tricky concept.

Our learning in Science this term is looking at ‘Plants and Trees’. We are going to be growing our own sunflowers. We will be looking to see who can grow the tallest sunflower. The children are really excited about this and it will be interesting to see how they grow over the next five weeks.

Have a lovely weekend!

Mr Armitage
