Spring 1 Week 5- Planets, animals and 3D shapes!

What a busy week in Year 1!

We finished decorating our planets and wrote some amazing descriptive sentences about them.

In Science we made and presented posters about different animal groups to each other.

In maths we have been learning about 3D shapes- naming them, making them, recognising their properties and walking around to school to see how many we can find and recognise!

In phonics some of us have been practicing the "wr" sound this week and revisiting our previously learnt sounds.

On Monday it is our trip! Please don't forget to be lined up at 8:45am prompt. It is non-uniform and we aim to be back no later than 3pm. We are all SO excited!!

SCHOOL ADMISSIONS - excluding Nursery

Children born between 01/09/2021 - 31/08/2022 are due to start Reception in September 2026.
Applications close on 15th January, 2026. Offer day is in the evening of 16th April, 2026.

If your child has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), please note there's a different process for school transfers. You'll need to contact the Special Educational Needs Team directly at sen@havering.gov.uk to discuss changing your child's school.

School will finish for the Christmas Holidays on Friday 19th December (children will leave school at 1:15pm) and will return to school on Monday 5th January 2026.
