Autumn Term Week 12

Mr. Stephens - 01 Dec 2022

English
This week we have built on our understanding of onomatopoeia by reading and performing parts of the poem 'The Sound Collector'. We have also studied and used the suffix '-ing' to include verbs and adjectives in sentences.

Maths
Building on from last week, we have solved mixed addition and subtraction problems as well as using our knowledge to try and solve missing number problems.

Science
Continuing with our topic, this week we reflected on the plate of food we made in our prior lesson. We thought carefully about which foods were healthy, unhealthy, processed, fresh or pre-cooked.

Notices

  • Please send your child's Nativity costume in from Monday 5th December in a clearly labelled bag. It would also be helpful if your child has practised getting in and out of their costume several times. We will have 120 children to try and achieve this with so any practise at home will make this process much quicker.
  • Please ensure that all items of clothing are clearly labelled with your child's name. We have increasing numbers of children losing items of clothing and looking for them will no longer be done by staff. It will be your child's responsibility to locate missing items of clothing outside of lesson time.
  • If you have not already done so, please refer to the letters with Christmas/end of term activities and their dates if you are unsure of when things are taking place in school.
