Stone Henge fun!
02 Dec 2016
This week in Year 3, we have been learning about Stone Henge as part of our Topic. We looked at how long the stones have been there, and thought about how they could have been brought to Stone Henge. We also read some theories about why Stone Henge was created, and why knowing the patterns of the Sun would have been so important to the early farmers of the Stone Age.
After this we made our own Stone Henge using clay. We had to cross hatch the clay to make sure the stones would stick firmly to the base. After the clay dried, we painted it to look like the real thing. It was lovely to see the children showing such good team work to create their Stone Henges. I think they have done a fantstic job, what do you think?
