Year 3 Week 6

17 Oct 2019

Literacy
This week Year 3 have been writing nonsense poems. They have enjoyed learning about these and making up their own nonsense words for their poems. To begin they gathered vocabulary for their poem. They thought about how they could make their poems more interesting by adding alliteration, similes, onomatopoeia and personification. They have been great to read!

Maths
In maths we have continued to learn about repeated addition which the children have found quite challenging. They have worked really hard on this as a method to multiply. Next half term we will be learning a formal written method to multiply.

Topic
This week the children have been learning about James Lind. They researched why James Lind was an important historical figure and discovered that Vitamin C is an important part of our diets in order to maintain a healthy body.

The children did really well in their class assembly this week. I would like to say a huge thank you to those parents that were able to attend.

Have a great half term!
