In the afternoons before home time, the children have enjoyed being read 'Fantastic Mr Fox' by Roald Dahl. After finishing the book, we decided to hold a debate using themes from it. Our statement was 'Are animals less important than humans'
The children had to consider both sides of the argument, then debate their views. They then voted on whether they disagreed or agreed with the statement in the ballot box. I was particularly impressed with Grace, David A and Aman, who put a lot of thought into their opinions. I was very impressed with the way the whole class acted during the debate, they respected each other's views and challenged them respectfully.
