All hail Boudicca!

05 Feb 2016

This week in year 3, we have been learning about Celts. We have discovered that these people in the Iron Age lived not only in the U.K. but across most of Europe too! The children enjoyed discovering the different countries where Celts had once lived.

One particularly interesting Celt we have been learning about is Boudicca. The children learned all about her rebellion across Colchester, London and St Albans. They wrote acrostic poems about her. Here is an example by Pippa:

Bold, strict powerful

Outraged at the rotten Romans

Uncontrolled but as fierce as a fireball in a cannon

Dangerous already but getting stronger

Iceni tribe see her as their true leader

Courageously she showed the way to London

Causing fire and war

As fierce as a lion.
