A creative afternoon in Year 3!

We have been getting rather creative in Year 3 this afternoon, with some cross curricular Art and Drama!
In R.E. we have been learning all about Hinduism, and as Diwali is the closest Hindu festival we just had to read the story of Rama and Sita.
The children loved the story and then used it to create their own puppets of the characters from the story. They drew them onto paper, then mounted them onto card to make them stronger. The children then stuck their puppets to sticks. After we had completed the puppets, we then went outside to role play the story. There are definitely some budding actors in Year 3! Their versions of the story were extremely entertaining!
