What's been happening this week in year 3?

16 Oct 2015

This week in year 3 we have started a new Literacy unit. In this Unit we have begun our new fiction story 'Storm'. We have written our own setting descriptions for the book. Below is Arsene's work from this lesson. He included lots of powerful personification. Well done!

"Annie walked cautiously to the marsh. The trees were waving furiously. As she stepped into the water it felt like knives were cutting her feet. Creepily the ducks were quacking annoyingly in the brown muddy water. She saw clouds glide in the air. The grass waved as the wind blew it. Annie could hear the wind howl in her ears."

In science this week we have been looking more in detail at how muscles contract and relax in pairs by making our own model arms. We used card for the skeleton and elastic bands for the muscles. See some pictures below of the outcome!
